Brad is a saxophonist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who very early on developed skills on the clarinet and flute, as, according to one of his teachers, "any self-respecting saxophone player should!" Along with studying jazz saxophone with Don Palmer, and later with Greg Carter at St. Francis Xavier University, early experiences playing in pit bands introduced the thrill and challenge of playing multiple instruments, and different musical styles.
After meeting some local classical saxophonists, Brad formed the Brogue Saxophone Quartet as an outlet to develop this aspect of saxophone playing, and more. Check them out on the web at www.broguequartet.ca.
He performs in groups ranging from jazz bands and classical chamber ensembles, to concert bands, orchestras, and musical theatre.
Brad has been teaching privately since 2003, plays for events such as weddings and receptions, and is sometimes hired to help out with school musicals.
